Beware of your Miniature Pinscher jumping or
lunging at other pedestrians
Question My Min Pin loves walking
on the leash, but startles other walkers by jumping out at them as we
pass. I’m afraid he might nip at
someone. How can I make him stop acting
like this on our walks? Bikers, joggers—beware! If you
live in the city, like most people you’ll walk your dog on the sidewalk. What
you may not realize is that your dog could cause an accident by jumping at and
startling a biker or jogger. Try to find a secluded area to
walk your dog. Keep him on a short leash
until you are in a park or open area where you can cut him some slack. If possible, walk wide around other
pedestrians to avoid the scare tactic. Your dog may be doing this
because he feels threatened or is showing dominance to other walkers. Obedience training is once again a good
option.
