The 8 Golden Rules of Miniature Pinscher Crate Training:

  1. The crate belongs to your Min Pin. It should be off-limits to children.

 

  1. You are the "pack leader", and as such, you are in charge. Your dog needs to learn this!

 

  1. Never let your dog out when he is whining. Giving in will make it more difficult to train him.

 

  1. Remember that you are doing your dog a favor by keeping him safe and out of trouble when you are unable to supervise him.

 

  1. Your Miniature Pinscher's crate is not intended for long hours of unsupervised use. When you are at home, your dog needs to be out of his "house" and in your company.

 

  1. Never use the crate as a means of punishment.

 

  1. Do not place the crate in a draft or in direct sunlight.

 

  1. Do not leave a collar or tag on your dog when he is in the crate. It may catch on the bars and cause injury to your dog.
