Examine your dogís daily routine.† He should be getting at least an hour or two of exercise each day.† Even if you have a yard for him to play in, you should go out with him and play to ensure that he is actually exercising and not just napping in the warm sun.† Boredom could lead him to an inactive lifestyle and overeating, so control his exercise and eating habits carefully.† Donít make him do too much too soon; an overweight Min Pin has excess weight and strain on his joints and heart and should start off slowly, building to more rigorous exercise as the weight comes off.
If you are unable to help your dog control his weight, be sure to take him to the vet.† They will go over the diet and exercise program with you and monitor the weight loss.
